I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in STOYSTOWN PA where I ate at Kings N Queens Restaurant & Hotel and I read a new piece about bamboo. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some other incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
