I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in STILLWATER MN where I ate at Bavarian Hunter and I read a new piece on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
