I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in STILLWATER NJ where I ate at Blue Mountain Inn and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found out some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
