I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in STEVENS POINT WI where I ate at Tess' Twist and I came across a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
