I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in STERLING VA where I ate at Baja Fresh Mexican Grill and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some more interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
