I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in STATE COLLEGE PA where I ate at Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant and I read an interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some other amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
