I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in SPRINGFIELD MA where I ate at Mcdonald's Hamburgers - Springdale Mall and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I have to admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some other interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
