I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in SPOKANE WA where I ate at Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees Local 8 and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few basic items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found out some more interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
