I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in SOMERVILLE TN where I ate at Hut the Restaurant and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
