I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in SILVERTON OR where I ate at Towne House Restaurant & Lounge Inc and I saw a new cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found some amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
