I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in SILVER CITY NM where I ate at Old World Bakery & Cafe and I saw a really interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I found some more amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
