I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in SHELBY NC where I ate at Barnettes Restaurant and I saw a new piece on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I must say I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found some other interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
