I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in SEYMOUR IN where I ate at Larrisons Diner and I saw an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some more incredible details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
