I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in SEMINOLE FL where I ate at Suzie Q'S Diner and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After some more research I found some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
