I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in SEATTLE WA where I ate at Binh Houng Restaurant and I came across an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some other interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
