I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in SCRANTON PA where I ate at Bistocchi's Angelo Restaurant and I saw a really interesting cover story on bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got some basic items of clothing.

I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I discovered some more amazing details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
