I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in SCHAUMBURG IL where I ate at Cafe Torelli and I came across a really interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some other incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
