I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in SARASOTA FL where I ate at Kay's BBQ Restaurant Lounge and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must say I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
