I move around a lot for my work and so often end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in SANTA ANA CA where I ate at Callenders Marie Pie Shops and I came across a really interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
