I travel a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in SANTA ANA CA where I ate at MINH Phung Food To Go and I read a new article about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got some basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
