I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in SANFORD FL where I ate at Hardees of Sanford and I came across an interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found out some more interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
