I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in SAN FRANCISCO CA where I ate at Hyde Street Seafood House and Raw Bar Inc and I came across a new article on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
