I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in SAN FRANCISCO CA where I ate at Hoang DAT Coffee Shop and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I must say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I found out some other interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
