I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in SAN FRANCISCO CA where I ate at Primetime Pizza Sports Bar & Grill and I saw a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I should say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I discovered some more interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
