I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in SAN ANTONIO TX where I ate at El Torito Mexican Restaurant and I came across a new article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found some amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
