I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in SALEM OR where I ate at Valley Cafeteria and I came across a new cover story on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found some other incredible details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
