I travel a lot for my job and so often end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in SAINT LOUIS MO where I ate at Little Caesars Pizza - Ferguson and I read a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
