I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in SAINT LOUIS MO where I ate at J F Sanfilippo's Restaurant and I read an interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I should say I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I discovered some incredible details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
