I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in SAINT LOUIS MO where I ate at Hardee's Restaurants - Kirkwood and I saw an interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found some other incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
