I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in SAINT LOUIS MO where I ate at Bodega and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some other interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
