I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in SAINT ANN MO where I ate at Hampton Inn St. Louis-Airport and I came across an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I discovered some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
