I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in ROUGON LA where I ate at Cajun Restaurant & Lounge and I read a really interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found out some amazing facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
