I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in RONKONKOMA NY where I ate at Rainbow Deli and I read a new piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I must tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a little more research I discovered some amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
