I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in RONAN MT where I ate at Mission Mountain Restaurant and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
