I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in ROLLING MEADOWS IL where I ate at Little Caesars Pizza Treat and I read a new cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a few basic items of clothing.

I must say I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some more incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
