I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in ROCKPORT TX where I ate at Copano Provisioning CO and I read a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a little more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
