I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in ROCK ISLAND IL where I ate at Poor Boys Pizza and Pub and I read a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
