I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in RICHMOND VA where I ate at Stuffys Subs - Fan Vcu Area and I read a new cover story about bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got some pieces of clothing.
I should say I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found out some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
