I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in RICHMOND VA where I ate at Beauregard's Thai Room and I read a really interesting article to do with bamboo. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.

I should say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I found some other interesting details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
