I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in RICHMOND VA where I ate at Metro Grill and I read a new article about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
