I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in RICHMOND VA where I ate at Surf Rider Grill Waterford and I came across an interesting piece on bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found some other incredible facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
