I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in RESEDA CA where I ate at Beijing Town Express and I came across a new piece about bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some more interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
