I travel a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in RENO NV where I ate at Yen Ching and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.

I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some more amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
