I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in RENO NV where I ate at Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees Union L and I came across a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought some items of clothing.

I should say I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found out some amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
