I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in REIDSVILLE NC where I ate at Libby Hill Seafood Restaurant and I came across an interesting piece about bamboo. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found out some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
