I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in READING PA where I ate at Panda Doll Chinese Restaurant and I saw a new piece on bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found some more interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
