I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in RAPID CITY SD where I ate at Morningside Cafe and I saw a really interesting article about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a few basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found out some other interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
