I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in RALEIGH NC where I ate at Claudio's Italian Ristorante and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought some items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
