I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in QUINLAN TX where I ate at Cash Kitchen and I saw a new article on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought some items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
