I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in QUILCENE WA where I ate at Sea JS Cafe and I saw a really interesting article about bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I must say I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found some more amazing details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
